Goodrich Rocks 2014

On Thursday 3rd July at 5pm our school playground was transformed into a music festival and talent contest to give Glastonbury a run for its money (well, almost).

The eleven performances given by school pupils were witnessed by a large and enthusiastic crowd of pupils, parents, staff and guest judges Dolly Parton and Luis Suarez, poorly but entertainingly impersonated by school staff.

As the votes were counted two staff bands battled it out with storming renditions of Song 2 (Woohoo!) and Happy - by far the most popular choice of song for children who auditioned this year.

The Mini Maltesers were crowned winners for their tribute to the school and the event R-O-C-K, there were tears of joy, and a few of sadness, all soon wiped away as we thanked Gilly Hibberd for founding and running Goodrich Rocks for the last 8 years.

Then the bands packed up, the revellers headed for the exits and Goodrich Rocks was done for another year. All entrance fees and profits from the drink and food stalls will go to FOG, and so will go to helping to fund the school. Woohoo indeed!
