Goodrich Voluntary Contribution Scheme
Dear Parents and Carers,
For several years now Goodrich, like all primary schools, has seen dramatic real terms decline in its budget. Alongside this there has been a reduction in the pupil roll due to Brexit and the number of families leaving London as a consequence of the pandemic, which has also affected our funding.
We’re really proud of our history of providing a broad range of educational activities for all children.We want to ensure that all children are able to continue to benefit from a rich and exciting curriculum despite the financial pressures we face, so we’re going to be setting up a new fund to help meet some of the cost of these types of activities.
With the support of many parents and carers, we have decided, like many other primary schools, to ask parents and carers to make a voluntary contribution to this fund, if you feel you are able to. It will be an optional contributory fund, so you can contribute whatever amount you feel comfortable with and if you can’t or don’t want to, that’s fine too.
How will the new ‘voluntary contribution scheme’ work?
The scheme will be run and managed by the school, using the Parentpay platform that enables one-off or regular payment and the link is on the school website.
Donations received by the school will be used to supplement the broad range of educational activities, for the benefit of all children at Goodrich and this fund will help us do this. The school will report at least annually on what funds in the scheme have been used for.This will be separate to FOG funding.
